Wallace And Gromit Get New HQ From Gleeds

The creators of animated legends Wallace and Gromit, Aardman Animations, are working with Gleeds, the International Management and Construction Consultancy, on the design and build of an ?8million new headquarters facility in Bristol where work has just begun.

Gleeds will assist Aardman at their Gas Ferry Road site where they are providing Project Management, Quantity Surveyor and Planning Co-ordinator services in the construction of a 3 storey, 3,200 sq.m exciting purpose built show-piece headquarters building that will provide new and improved accommodation for various departments including Marketing, Project Management, Creatives and Broadcasting.

A highly innovative specification for the building includes enviro-measures such as computer controlled venting systems which will be used to regulate the opening and closing of the windows and encourage natural ventilation throughout the building. Only when the internal temperature of the structure exceeds the design parameters of the building will the windows and vents close to allow a powered ventilation system to commence.

Ian Gibson, Managing Director of Gleeds Management Services who is responsible for the project management said, ?We are delighted to have been given this fantastic opportunity to work on such an important and exciting project in Bristol. Sustainability is an increasingly important field and our involvement only serves to stress Gleeds? commitment and experience in delivering state of the art eco friendly buildings.?
